Exploration tour

Our service

Before investing in a new market, an exploratory visit is essential. Quebec and Canadian companies who wish to do so will enjoy an immersive experience in the Republic of Congo's entrepreneurial ecosystem through an exploratory visit.

The city of Pointe-Noire

Located 5 hours from the administrative capital of Brazzaville, Pointe-Noire is one of Central Africa's best-kept secrets. Pointe-Noire is the country's economic capital, due to the high level of economic and industrial activity. Pointe-Noire covers an area of almost 40,000 hectares and has a population of one million two hundred thousand.

It is an essential gateway to the Gulf of Guinea, giving access to a market of over 150,000,000 people, with its immediate neighbor the DRC alone having a population of over 100,000,000.

Mostly French-speaking, the adult literacy rate (aged 15 and over) in Congo-Brazzaville is estimated at around 80%. This figure conceals disparities between the sexes:

  • Men: around 88

  • Women: approx. 72

The gap is more pronounced in rural areas, where female literacy is often lower.

The city of Pointe-Noire offers development opportunities for the industrial sector. The presence of port infrastructures on its territory makes it the locomotive of the country's economic development. Benefiting from the Pointe-Noire Special Economic Zone, which covers an area of 3,150 hectares, the incentives for attracting foreign direct investment give it a significant position in the sub-region.

The SEZ's activities include: refined petroleum products; metals and engineering; chemicals; the food and beverage industry; non-metallic mineral products; wood and wood by-products; paper and paper products; the production of plastic and glass products; etc.

Safe and secure, with a population 30% smaller than that of the city of Montreal, the region's assets make it an attractive place to live. It's easy to get around, even by cab, without fear, making it ideal for families. Bordering part of the Atlantic Ocean, its surfing beaches make it easy to finish the day's work and watch the sun set.
